Tim Draper is the founder and managing partner of Draper Associates, a venture capital firm; he began investing in 1985, and in 1997 the firm came to be known as Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ). He also founded the Draper Venture Network and, in 2013, Draper University, an entrepreneurship school in San Mateo, California. In 2014 he bought nearly 30,000 bitcoins auctioned by the US Marshals Service.
